MP Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine Rejects the 20M!

Opposition Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine has taken a swipe at Parliament where he represents Kyandondo East for shameless sharing taxpayers money amounting to UGX. 10bB in such a complicated season of coronavirus pandemic.

It’s said that this money will be shared amongst MPs with each set to get a UGX. 20M share.

Bobi Wine in a press statement says that the Parliament’s allocation of this money is not only shameful but “it is insensitive to the plight of millions of Ugandans who are facing untold challenges ranging from hunger, sickness and even death”.

“Ugandans are bearing the brunt of this predicament. There have been reports of numerous people failing to access health centers due to limited transport means, and as a result some have succumbed to various ailments. A huge number of people across the country are in dire need of food, healthcare and other essential amenities,” he wrote, noting that government has not done much to help them.

Bobi Wine adds that sharing of UGX.10 billion is a symptom of a bigger crisis which his group is fighting to resolve.

“Indeed, government presented a supplementary budget of over 300 billion shillings to Parliament to aid in the fight against COVID19. Many aspects of the budget were not only luxurious, some seemed even dubious! Several legislators raised concerns about the allocation of huge sums of money for things like billboards, but they would not be heard! A Minority Report authored by Hon. Gerald Karuhanga was ignored. The budget was passed without much debate,” he added.

He says An MP, just like any other able citizen can avail support to vulnerable people from their personal earnings but this money should not be drawn from the tax payers’ money.

“We reject the notion that this money was meant to enable Members of Parliament carry out their roles in this period”.

“Let me clarify that I have not received this money,” he said, but “should it be deposited on my account, I will immediately order my bank to return it to the Consolidated Fund and demand that it is put to its proper purpose.”

He says the the focus of the nation at this point should be on building a robust healthcare system, and empowering practitioners with all they need, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

He said People Power Movement to whom he is the leader will continue to use the available resources contributed by “ourselves and other well-wishers to reach out and support some of our people who are in extreme need”.

Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga has since banned MPs from defending themselves against the UGX.10b as part of the UGX.284b to mitigate the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

The Speaker made the directive during Thursday’s plenary sitting in response to public criticism over the decision by Parliament to allocate themselves money to fight Coronavirus yet health professionals don’t even have the necessary protective gears

The Speaker said, “I want to appeal to MPs, the issue of Shs10b is an issue of the Parliament Commission. Don’t continue talking about it because you don’t know about it. It’s not your business, just go on with your lives.”

Lil Pazo Donates 80Kgs of Posho, Asks Musicians to Emulate Him

Lil Pazo

Singer Lil Pazo has today donated 80kgs of posho to the task force team in the help of the needy citizens who were greatly affected by the lockdown resulting to corona virus outbreak in Uganda.

After donating, the ‘genda ogule emotoka’ hit maker asked the rest of musicians in Uganda to copy what he has done and give back to the people they normally yield money from.

The singer claims that he donated because musicians get a lot of money from the People who are now starving because of the current pandemic covid-19 but surprisingly he wasn’t seeing any musician giving back to the people, with the exception of Bobi Wine.

He says that this forced him to get what he could (80kgs), as little as it is, and show a good example to his fellow musicians to give back to people otherwise they were getting ashamed as musicians. He asked his fellow musicians, especially those who have staged big successful concerts over the time to give back to the people because if he, who hasn’t staged any concert managed to give back, how about them!!

He also refutes allegations that he got the 5kg of posho that was given to musicians saying that he is capable of catering for himself in this trying time and he instead begs the musicians’ gifted posho to be donated to the needy citizens claiming that all musicians are a bit well off as compared to some people out there!!!

Chameleone Apologizes to Fans for His Ugly Reaction With URA Officials

0

As of recent, media has been flooded with news and videos of legendary singer, Jose Chameleone, clashing with the URA enforcement officers over car tax. To recapitulate, on Easter Sunday the hopeful Kampala Lord Mayor was waylaid by the URA officials at the entrance of Masengere, on his way to Mengo-based BBS TV for a live performance TV show.

Via his facebook page, the husky-voiced singer went on to apologize to his fans saying that he really regrets exchanging words with the URA officials.

”I wish to state, that as a person, in my celebrity capacity and as a leader, I have values I stand for, I get disappointed every time I fail on them, just like that time. Therefore, for all of you my people who felt that I fell below your expectations, I’m sorry. I’m just human.”, posted Chameleone.

On Easter Sunday the URA officials buttonholed Chameleone demanding for papers of his alleged gifted car which the ‘Bolingo Ya Mzambe’ singer claims he wasn’t with the papers at that time. This led into exchange of words between Chameleone & the URA officials till when the URA team finally left the singer to go for his live performance as they waited for him.

In the same post, in which Chameleone apologized to fans, he made it clear that on Easter Monday his car was handed over to URA for scrutiny as requested. He however said that him and his team are in contact with URA to ensure that this impasse is resolved amicably and all dues will be paid accordingly after verification and assessment.

About all the allegations that have been circulating that his friend Balaam was behind the impounding of his car, basing on the video as Chameleone’s car was being taken which seemed to have a voice sounding familiar with Balaam’s ordering for the taking of the car, the Leone Island chief said that he played and replayed the video but he will make a statement after a word with Balaam to understand his actions.

Lastly, the singer assured his fans that he’s very fine and enduring the lockdown also begging them to continue observing the rules & regulations as given by the World Health Organization and government. He then assured the fans that he’s looking forward to continue working on more great music.

I didn’t have sex with Daddy Andre – Katatumba Clarifies

Towards the start of this year, 2020, multi-talented singer, producer and writer, Daddy Andre, hooked up with veteran singer Angella Katatumba.

The two cleared the air that they were dating which saw them even doing a duet dubbed ‘Tonerabira’. The relationship lasted for only three months before it ended as the two lovebirds got some misunderstandings.

Angella Katatumba claims that one of the things that led to the end of her relationship with Daddy Andre is because the producer failed to go for HIV testing.

When asked if she hadn’t involved in any sexual affair with the ‘sikikukweka’ singer Katatumba adamantly said no, leaving many people so surprised. However, she didn’t hesitate to applaud Andre for being a loving, caring and generous guy, saying that he even spent almost 20 Uganda million shillings during the spell of their relationship.

However, many think that this might be a strategy of Angella Katatumba marketing her song ‘tonerabira’ with Daddy Andre of which it’s video has been unleashed today. Below is the video of Daddy Andre and Katatumba duet ‘tonerabira’:

Dr T Amale

What is in this Video?

It is to be remembered that last month Dr. T Amale made a video that went viral that seemed to attack Bobi Wine. The video praised the current president Yoweri Museveni and Dr. T went ahead and made comments against People Power and its supporters, statements that didn’t go well with the Opposition supporters.

It is this same video that caused problems to Ddembe Fm presenter, Jacob Omutuzze after he shared a video on his own facebook page. He added some statement supporting the comedian and said that what Dr. T Amale was talking about is true. He received a lot of insults and abuses from People Power supporters.

Dj Jacob however decided to retaliate back to the People Power supporters and even went ahead and talked to Bobi Wine who managed the conflict to stop his fans (also supporters) from making further attacks. Jacob also made a public apology leading to a cease fire!

Now it’s turn for Dr. T Amale as his fellow Bizontos are not happy with the comments they get on their posts nowadays.

Kenzo Trading Car to Whoever Sending Him Western Union

0

Ugandan celebrated artist, Eddy Kenzo, is one of the Uganda nationals who were caught up outside the country during the lockdown. The extension of the lockdown to 21 days has even added salt to an injury prompting the Big Talent boss to resort to his “usual cries” over social media.

The Big Talent chief will not forget the Covid-19 and since Uganda suspended all flights, Kenzo has cried for help from the Uganda government to allow him “get special treatment” and get back home. At the time of suspending the flights, Kenzo was in Ivory Coast where he had gone for a music tour! Up to today, he is now stranded in a hotel in Ivory Coast but his wait for things to get back to normal is still in vain.

Yesterday he was one of those people who eagerly waited for the presidential speech, as the president addressed the nation on the pandemic covid-19 and the end of the initial 14 Days of Lock Down at the Nakasero state lodge.

However, the news that broke the Carmel’s back came in after the president announced the extension of the Lock down to 21 more days. Like most of the Ugandans Eddy Kenzo seems not to be happy with President’s decision to extend the lock down for the other 21 days and he now pondering over the next move.

The singer says that he was watching the president keenly as he extended the lockdown to 21 days of which the ‘semyekozo’ singer says it’s a good idea for safeguarding the citizens but for his case he’s really badly off financially, where he is.

Kenzo’s post on Facebook

He has therefore begged for help and promised to give out his car to Whoever is ready to send him some money on western union otherwise he’s about to die.

He also reported that he doesn’t feel safe to be in a country with over 700 confirmed cases and he is wondering how he can get back home.

Kenzo is not alone! There are many Ugandans stranded in different countries including China, UAE and more. However his hopes seem dim since Uganda is concentrating on the already “imported corona virus cases” and protecting the citizens who are locked inside the country.

Let us keep our fingers crossed to see if the “gavumenti weyayu” singer will get anyone to save him in these terrible days where everyone is saving his little money to buy posho and beans!

Museveni Extends Uganda Corona Virus Lockdown

The president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni Kaguta has extended the lockdown to another 21 days.
While addressing the country on Tuesday April 14, the president extended the lockdown to more 3 weeks starting with Wednesday 15th April 2020.

The president acknowledged that Uganda will handle the crisis and win the battle of Covid-19, a pandemic that has killed over 126000 people globally by now.

The 21-day lockdown runs till May 5th 2020 and the government will assess the efforts during this period and establish whether it could lift some bans including that of public transport.

The State of Corona Virus in Uganda

At the televised state address, the president said that Uganda has so far done 5664 tests. The confirmed positive cases total to 54 people.

There are 7 people who have recovered and have been discharged. Uganda has not yet registered any death and no patient is within the state of serious or critical condition.

Among the tests done, 4015 tests were returnees who had travelled abroad. 1232 tests are for the people who had interacted with the returnes who “escaped’ or did not get quarantined at that time. 402 tests have been done on people who had contact with the already confirmed positive cases.

Why an Extension of 21 Days

Uganda needs the 21 days to comb its corners and identify any positive cases that may be still at large.

The government is going to utilise this time to reach out any people who made contacts with the positive cases who are still undertaking treatment.

The president has advised Ugandans to stay at home and take the measures set against spreading corona Virus seriously.

Jose Chameleone Clashes with URA Officials Over Car Tax

0

Yesterday 12th/April/2020, the Mengo-based Buganda Kingdom official television station, BBS TV, organized a special live performance show dubbed ‘Easter Camuka show’ to entertain its esteemed viewers on Easter Sunday. Since all entertainment venues were suspended for a while following the outbreak of corona virus pandemic, BBS TV decided to entertain its viewers from their homes with a line up of talented musicians, headlined by Jose Chameleone, doing live performances in the TV’s studios.

However, on his way to TV the ‘Baliwa’ singer first clashed with URA officials who were asking him to present documents showing his car’s registration but Chameleone was not ready to oblige to their orders.

Chameleone kept on asking the URA officials to allow him first do the King’s job before doing what they wanted insisting that he hadn’t moved with the documents. The heated argument between the two parties took quite some time before the aspiring Kampala lord mayor was allowed to proceed with his journey.

Afterwards the singer went on his socials thanking the management and staff of BBS TV for the hospitality he received as well as thanking the people who were viewing the show from their homes, who also sent him voluminous messages of appreciation of his electrifying performance he put up on the show.

He further said that despite the URA who tried to jeopardize the mood on such a public holiday, following him to BBS TV questioning him about his car tax – he has all the documents they need. He then promises to avail his car documents as soon as public holidays are over. Below watch the video showing Chamelone clashing with URA officials:
