Below are some of the ways that you can really enjoy your ride in Uganda

Get off the beaten track

Depending on public mode of transportation means that you can only navigate through paths where buses or matatus can reach. And given that most of Uganda’s remotest protected areas aren’t reached by most of the buses or even taxis, renting a safari car can be the best option for you to navigate through the remotest areas even when it is a wet season when most of these routes tend to be muddy and hence making it very challenging for visitors to achieve their dreams in Africa. Hiring a car with us offers you amazing opportunity to realize that long term dream. We arrange guided tours, self drive adventures and many more depending on what you are interested.

When it comes to safaris, getting lost of part of it and it is one way for you adventure new destinations. The only challenge can come in you have set off for longer distance and you are on a hurry to drive back to the hotel. However, with our safari cars which come with GPS, there is no need to get worried but rather enjoy your ride comfortably while locating the places that you have reached to.

Come along with your picnic, given that not all areas that you will reach will be offering lunch, packing a picnic lunch ideally plays a big role while you are on road trip to any destination in Uganda. You can grab some local products and come with them in your car and you will be sorted at the end of the day. The trip can be enjoyable but not at all times, you can feel hungry and the whole journey you spend while yawning.

Taking photographs isn’t a crime but rather it is part of your journey. Meaning it is not costly for you to pack your camera and shoot your pictures at your own pace. It hurts when you land into the species of your interest and you have no camera but rather you become spectator as others are busy taking them. First it won’t be an interesting trip and you won’t have any evidence to show your friends or family members back home that you were for a vacation to Uganda’s national park say Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park or Mgahinga National Park for mountain gorilla trekking.

Time management is a very important factor when it comes to travel. Your time in the destination can be minimal but make sure that you are patient enough as this will come with amazing views of wildlife species that you may have interest in. To be on safer side, make sure that you report to tourist site of your interest as earlier as possible to avoid doing things on a hurry.

Observe the travel tips

Interacting with local residents is ideally one of the perfect things to do when it comes to safaris in any destination. This means that you have to observe the tips other visitors can provide you. You realize that most of them have been to this destination some years back and they have prior knowledge and ideas that of value to you too. Make sure that you are flexile enough for any changes in your itinerary and take time to search for amazing adventures. Things can be better especially when you embark on safari using your ride or rather self drive which allows you do lots of things along way and at within your own pace.

Be spontaneous, if you have always been in fixed travel itineraries and you were able to view a few attractions, it is a high time you explored lots of attractions that Uganda offers to the world travelers. Hiring one of our 4wheel drive cars is the best way for you to realize you dreams. Embark on self drive adventure and have the most flexible and comfortable trip in your life with one of our perfect self drive fleets.

Uganda’s long distance runner Joshua Cheptegei on Sunday failed to break his own record set last year but managed to emerge victor of the 2021 Monaco Run in 13:11.

“It was still a good race but the win was incredibly difficult to break,” Joshua Cheptegei said after the 5km race.

Cheptegei who returned to the scene of his 12:51 world record from last year further said he expects this year to be greater for him as he prepares for Tokyo and Olympics.

“I knew that I had to run the best way I always run. I did not want anything to distract me. I just ran to defend the title,” he said when asked why he removed the gloves mid the race.

“I expect to become great this year or even more,” he added.

Kenya’s Bethwell Birgen finished in the second position with 13:15 and was followed by his colleague Davis Kiplangant who finished in 13:16.

Last year Cheptegei took 27 seconds off the official global 5km record mark after 1km splits of 2:31, 2:35, 2:36, 2:35 and 2:34.

Why Mama Awards Ceremony was Suspended in Uganda

After an online campaign urging MTV Base to cancel its annual MTV Africa Music Awards over allegations of human rights abuses by the Ugandan government, the TV channel postponed the awards, which was due to be held in the East African country’s capital, Kampala.

“It was painful to see MTV was being used to sanitize the oppressive regime here in Uganda,” said presidential candidate Bobi Wine during a press conference on Thursday.

“I am glad MTV is also seeing it and acting in respect of all the rights of artists. It would be such a shame for the MTV Music Awards to be held in Uganda under gunpoint.”

MTV Base did not give a reason for the postponement. When asked whether the decision had anything to do with the alleged human rights abuses, a communications director at Viacom, MTV’s parent company, said “we have nothing further to add.”

However, Uganda Tourism Board chief executive officer Lilly Ajarova told local media that the postponement was due to Internet “issues” and the coronavirus pandemic.

“There was a discussion about the postponement of the event. We still have issues with the Internet yet the event is supposed to be virtual. There was an issue of coronavirus,” Ms Ajarova said.

Uganda blocked social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, and later shut down the Internet on allegations that communications during the 2021 General Election last month would endanger security.
Internet has since been restored but social media platforms remain closed.

Wasafi’s Rayvanny And Mbosso Features Weasel in ”Zuena” Refix (Remix)

0
Legendary Ugandan ragga & dancehall rapper Douglas Mayanja aka Weasel Manizo, one half of the defunct duo Radio & Weasel has done a refix of their [with late mowzey radio] famous song ”Zuena” with Tanzania’s sensational singers Rayvanny & Mbosso of Wasafi records – which is owned by Diamond Platnumz.
Zuena is a saccharine love ballad sung by late Mowzey Radio alongside his all time singing partner Weasel. It is perhaps one of their biggest hits ever and the song is said to have been inspired by Bebe Cool’s wife ”Zuena Kirema” who back in days rumors had it that she was Late Mowzey’s ex-girlfriend before hooking up with the Gagamel chief.
Meanwhile, this new record (zuena refix) is off Rayvanny’s new Coming album “Sound Of Africa” . Just a few days back Weasel Manizo was in Tanzania for a video shoot of the same song with RayVanny and Mbosso.
The song is believed to be unleashed on 1st February 2021, the exact day Mowzey Radio lost his life three years back (2018).

Frank Gashumba Takes A Dig At The NRM Party

0
The ‘Sisimuka Uganda’ proprietor Frank Gashumba has today aimed a dig at the NRM Party in a facebook post. First things first, Gashumba first expressed his happiness in the introduction of his long harsh facebook post to the NRM, National Resistance Movement, Party.
In a very long post, the father of one claimed to have predicted the 2021 general elections 90% right – and perhaps it’s his source of happiness he was talking about.
Gashumba claimed that the political wave that swept Buganda is a clear indication how M7 (NRM owner) and his keens have betrayed Buganda (Baganda) – the same people who spoon-fed them for five years in a war that cost over 500,000 innocent Ugandans their lives in Luweero – a Buganda town.
Gashumba further asserted that no area sacrificed more for president Museveni and benefited less than the Baganda, which he prophesies to have been the reason as to why NRM lost immensely in Buganda during the past elections.
Below is however his full post:
HAPPINESS IS KILLING ME!
Frank M.Gashumba
Sisimuka Uganda
I am glad to say that 90% of what I predicted in the 2021 “General selections” (elections) came to pass!
When we started Sisimuka Uganda years ago, many of you called us names and others rubbished us! What many people don’t realize that our day-to-day work under Sisimuka Uganda has given us a better understand and grasp of the pain and anger that many of the young and the ordinary Ugandan goes experiences on a daily.
The political wave that swept Buganda is a clear indication how M7 and his keens have betrayed Buganda; the same Buganda that spoon-fed NRA for five years, in a war that cost over 500,000 innocent Ugandans their lives in Luweero.
No area sacrificed for M7 like Buganda and no area has benefitted less like Buganda; actually, anybody who voted for the NRM in Buganda needs a mental check-up. NRM vampires are simply users who have no right to condemn tribalism and nepotism because they are the epitome of tribalism and nepotism – nobody knows you better than I do.
Let anyone in Government show me one tangible project that’s based in Luweero. The factories that exist in that area have been set up by the Chinese who are massively exploiting our cheap labor.
In this 21st century, these Chinese pay these poor Ugandans a salary of just UGX100,000 ($30) a month!
All the while, these vampires in Government live a life of royals in Saudi Arabia.
Pardon my French but you’re exclusively stupid! And you better keep your eyes wide open because this revolution has just started.
Starting from tomorrow, I’m going to show you why NRM and its vampires are going to collapse.

Bobi Wine contested in the past presidential elections that saw 11 candidates contesting for the president of Uganda. Unfortunately, the kyarenga hit maker was not announced victorious as the incumbent president went out as the winner yet again. Meanwhile, out of all the presidential candidates, Bobi Wine put up a very strong contest to president Museveni and was the first run up.

Kyagulanyi

Police has revealed that they have credible information alluding to a planned self-kidnap of National Unity Platform – NUP Presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu after Thursday elections.

This was revealed by CP Fred Enanga while addressing journalists in a joint Security Press Conference at the Police Headquarters in Kampala on Tuesday afternoon.

“We have credible information that Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu wants to hide in one of the embassies after voting and spread propaganda that he has been kidnapped to instigate violence,” Enanga said.

The news comes just a day after Military officers  raided  Bobi Wine’s home on Monday.

At the time of the raid, Bobi Wine was having an interview with Kenyan radio station Hot 96 which was forced to end prematurely.

Reasons for the raid remain unknown as the Uganda People’s Defence Forces haven’t made a comment on the matter.

According to Bobi Wine, the military and his private security were involved in a fracas as they tried to break into his compound.

“So I am sorry even right now as we speak, we are being raided by the military. I have to end the interview because I can see soldiers beating up my security guards. I have to go down and give it attention,” he on live interview.

Bobi Wine further revealed that his private security guards were arrested by the military.

How to Use Your Phone to Locate Your Polling Station

0

As distribution of the Electoral Commission (EC)’s Voter Location Slips (VLS) continues, there are reports of overwhelming voter turnup across the country but has also triggered fear of a mass Covid-19 infections as people recklessly crowd the issuance centres to pick their voting slips without wearing masks or observing social distancing.

In some areas, voters were stranded as they could not see the EC officials designated to issue out the VLS.
However, you can avoid all the hustle and risks if you have a smart phone.

Uchaguzi, a new voter information platform  unveiled by ministry of ICT  recently to ensure there is interactivity and ease of access to information on electoral and voter education, as well as provide a civic education platform that will bridge the electoral knowledge gap, among others can help you avoid the risks that come with crowding to get a VLS.

The new platform has three digital assets – website (www.Uchaguzi.go.ug), app (mobile) and chat-bot. The same information is syndicated across the three channels. You can use the app or website to locate the polling station where you will cast the vote on January 14, 2021.

On the website, voter locator is the first item under Where and how to vote section. Enter your voter number, application id or national id number (NIN) to know where you will vote from the comfort of your zone.

You can now download the Uchaguzi application on http://uchaguzi.go.ug and get all election related information immediately.

Museveni Cautions: Stop Voting for Change Out of Excitement

Museveni Cautions Voters

President Yoweri Museveni has urged Ugandans to vote for his National Resistance Movement (NRM) as it’s the only party that has a clear ideology intended to continue transforming Uganda.

According to Museveni, politics and leadership isn’t all about singing, rather about seeing the nation develop by boosting the economy, making sure that citizens are safe and a number of other important things. He has urged Ugandans not to vote of excitement.

“Some countries have voted for change out of excitement, In Liberia out of Excitement the citizens voted for a famous footballer but it didn’t take them even a year to regret. They say their leader has turned into a dictator and so many things they hoped for have not happened,” Museveni said.

He said that its only him and NRM that are not afraid to publicly admit that there have been huge occasional failures like corruption and low-quality public service delivery.

However, he believes that their 2021 manifesto will be able to address all the above.

Our manifesto is the best. Only the NRM guarantees you peace and stability. We have the surest plan for economic transformation and prosperity. Uganda is on course to middle income status. It is why most Ugandans agree with us. We are certain of victory,” he said.
