RwandAir Flights Suspended by Dr Congo

0

The democratic republic of congo announced that it will suspend RwandAir flights. This came to action after the government of zaire indicated Rwanda of aiding the M23 rebel group. Last week, Kinshasa stipulated that Kigali was supporting the 23 movement activities, which Rwanda refuted amid ignited altercation between the Congolese Army and the rebels in eastern Congo.

Congo’s government has that it will take “conservative actions” against Rwanda and the first step was impeding its national airline’s flights. The conclusion was made after a discussion of the Superior Defence Council led by Felix Tshisekedi, the president of Congo.

The communications Minister Patrick Muyaya revealed in the private meeting held it was concluded that the RwandAir operations should be suspended instantly. The Defence council also decided to tell the Rwandan Ambassador that the government of congo’s objection.

RwandAir reacted by rescinding all its air journeys to Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Goma with immediate effect yesterday.

This is what the press release from RwandAir exactly indicated, “following the decision of the government of the democratic republic of congo to suspend RwandAir flights, RwandAir has decided to cancel all flights to Kinshasa, Lumbanshi, and Goma with immediate effect”.

“We are sorry for the inconvenience and disruption this may cause to our customers and we will waive change of reservation fees and off re-issues or refunds for those affected”.

“We will provide updates when we have them and be in touch with our customers to provide assistance where we can”

“RwandAir always puts the safety and security of its customers and crew as their number one priority”.

Congo accuses Rwanda of conveying support to M23 rebels in the eastern part of the country, asserting military machinery was discovered with depositions from locals and images taken by soldiers.

Kinshasa alleges their neighbors Kigali are sabotaging a peace process that is interceded by Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta who is now the president of the East African Community which Zaire joined recently.

After some good time of seizing, the M23 renewed their hostile activities earlier this year citing that the Congolese authorities did not honor the 2009 tract under which its fighters were to be integrated into the army.

The United Nations revealed that 72,000 locals were displaced due to the war between the Congolese soldiers and M23 rebels in the eastern part of the country.

The M23 rebel group has been causing mayhem in eastern Congo for over two decades. At one time in 2012, it conquered Goma, a prominent province in the area before the Congolese army crashed them in the subsequent year. The M23 comprises 120 armed groups of Congolese Tutsi origin

Museveni Comments About Son’s Birthday Celebrations

0
Muhoozi, Museveni, Janet and Paul Kagame

For the first time since Lt. General Kainerugaba Muhoozi started his relentless birthday treats, President Museveni has given his remarks.

Since the 24th of April, the date the first son was born, he has been celebrating his birthday by staging it in different venues. The celebrations kick-started at Kololo Ceremonial ground on the 24th of April 2022 where the birthday run ended that morning. In the evening, it transferred to Lugogo Cricket Oval where a huge Crowd partied with the birthday boy in attendance and other top officials.

The festival went to Rukungiri district west of Uganda the following weekend and the other weekend it was in Entebbe. The general with his entourage which he normally calls the “MK Team” announced that they will be taking the party to Northern Uganda.

In most of Mr. Muhoozi’s birthday speeches, he has subtly indicated that he is ready to take the reigns if the people of Uganda wish so. He has further indicated his intentions through his tweets.

Murmurs have been relayed from various detractors that Uganda is neither an Empire nor a monarchy where a son has to inherit the Father’s position. The birthday parties are under the disguise of declaring his presidential ambitions.

Other grieved people have criticized that the first son is wasting the taxpayers’ money yet the country is in some sort of economical crisis. His apologists have debunked these allegations saying that their man has been working for so long and has wealthy family and friends who can manage to throw him such parties.

One city lawyer has filed a case in the courts suing Muhoozi for getting involved in political activities yet he is still serving in the Army which is contrary to Uganda’s constitution.

Now after almost a month, His Father, President Museveni has commented on the precedents during his interview at Nakasero State Lodge with TRT World, a global media station. Mr. Tibuhaburwa said that his son is merely marking his birthday and people with good intentions are making it noteworthy.

The president of Uganda also disregarded the allegations that Muhoozi is biding for the hot seat.  he said, ” Uganda belongs to Uganda, it does not belong to me or my family. it is for the citizens to decide.”

Young Lady Kills Self Over Depression

0

A young Kenyan lady took her life away on Friday 13th May 2022. Monny Muthoni who committed suicide two days ago conveyed two suicidal alerts when she cryptically posted on Facebook.

In the first post, she wrote, “Dear World, I am leaving because I am bored, I feel I have lived long enough. I am leaving you with your worries in this sweet cesspool. I tried. No more pain. wake no more. Nobody owns”

Shortly after she posted, “I am going to put myself to sleep now for a bit longer than usual. Call time eternity. I”

The news of her demise broke out yesterday on Saturday when different online blogs confirmed that she had put her life to an end.

Many were fast to jump on the topic of the cause of her death, the majority saying that it was depression but they couldn’t assert the source of it.

At the look of her Facebook timeline, Monny seemed like a resilient young lady. In one of her recent pictures posted, she was smiling while standing at akimbo with a grin on her face. With a caption, ” the sun will rise tomorrow and we will try again💯”

Monny Monthoni was a Keyan national who resided in Mirahati, Central Kenya. She finished her studies at NYS Yatta School of Agriculture and spoke Kikuyu and English.

Lots of young people are suffering silently because of depression and end up killing themselves mercilessly. Many of them don’t want to reveal what they go through because they fear being judged and people suffering from this mental scourge are perceived as being weak, especially in Africa.

The main causes of depression among young people are unemployment, unhealthy love relationships, rocky relationships between their parents, and body deformations.

Liverpool Wins The FA Cup

0

Liverpool beat Chelsea to win the FA Cup in a much-contested encounter yesterday.

The match ended all square in the 90 minutes as both teams missed golden opportunities. The English giants pushed the game to extra time and they still fired blanks, only for the game to be settled in the penalty shootouts.

Liverpool came close to breaking the deadlock in both the normal 90 minutes and the extra time. In the 70 minutes, Arnold Alexandra Trent crossed the ball into the box which found Robertson only to hit his lap and hand to find itself out while trying to work his feet.

Liverpool’s left-back still squandered another chance as he met James Milner’s lushing ball at the back end. He managed to hit on a volley but it kissed the side of the post and went out.

Chelsea also came close when Pulisic and Marco Alonso both tried to drive the ball low to get passed Alison Becker, Liverpool’s number one but both takes went wide.

The game ended 0-0 as the two German tacticians Tuchel and Klopp failed to outwit each other.

Both teams scored the first two penalties but Cèsar Azipilicueta, the Chelsea captain missed the second. The next takers on both sides immaculately scored theirs until Saido Manè failed to convert the last penalty in the first five shootouts to bury the tie. Mendy saved his national team compatriot’s spot-kick to give his team hope.

On the 7th spot-kick of Chelsea, Alisson Becker stood firm and parried away Mount Mason’s reachable shot. It was Liverpool’s time to end the tie and Konstatinos Tsimikas held his nerve and sent Mendy the wrong way to win his team their 7th FA Cup title.

This was the second time in the season Liverpool edged Chelsea in a cup, the first was the Carabao cup which the Kops also won in penalties.

The Merseyside side’s FA triumph means that their quadruple aspirations are still alive. They are 3 points behind Man City in the English Premier with two games left to play and they will meet 13 UEFA Champions League holders, Real Madrid in the Final in Paris at the end of this month.

Mwenda Distances Himself from Sheeba Rape Saha!

0

By Andrew M. Mwenda

A local musician known as Sheeba Kalungi went on YouTube with a video. She claimed that some man who appears on television and presents himself as a role model raped her. She does not reveal the name of this man but claims this man has SFC guards and that the incident happened at an event where she performed. Yet she does not mention the event, the date, time and place of her rape.

Sheeba claims, again with characteristic ambiguity, that this man violated her body to her disgust but she does not specify whether it was rape or indecent assault. But she claims he did so in the presence of her staff in her car and was protected by his guards from SFC.

I find it strange that a woman of her stature can be violated in such a humiliating and painful experience and instead of reporting the offender to the police, she takes the matter onto social media. To gain what? Sympathy? Why not seek justice through the police and the courts? In any case she could have pursued both: sympathy in the public sphere and justice in the courts of law.

When her video came out, someone went on social media claiming that I was that person who raped her. I have never in my life met this Sheeba and had never even heard of her until this video came out and allegations made against me. When I watched the video I gave her the benefit of the doubt believing she is a descent person. I expected her, seeing how viral these allegations have gone, to come out and say I am being wrongly accused since I have never met her. She has kept stone silent.

After five days I deliberately contacted her via WhatsApp asking her to clarify that I have never met her, leave alone tried to rape her. She ignored my messages, didn’t pick my calls, and claimed it was her “management” reading these messages. I find it strange that Sheeba feels no obligation to expose the man who raped her but is comfortable having the wrong person being accused of the crime.

Immediately after these allegations came out, a group of young activists running a complaint against sexual harassment and molestation came to me for assistance. They had a poster and a tweet defending her and asked me to like and retweet which I did. But Sheeba never came out again to expose the man who violated her or at the very least clear my name. Why?

It seems to me that for all her pretense in that video, this incident may never have happened; and if it did, Sheeba saw it as an opportunity to do a publicity stunt in order to promote herself on social media. I despise such forms of social psychopathy even though I am aware that in our attention driven world of today they have produced such super stars like Kim Kadashian.

I have come to the conclusion that the ambiguity in her video is not innocent. I am told she is a popular musician. Why does she let a man who raped her go scott free and at the same time sit back as social media lynch an innocent person? Not that I really care about what people on social media say about me.

But I care that so many well intentioned people are duped by Sheeba. I also care that rape is a bad thing, that women who experience it suffer untold psychological trauma. It is therefore imperative that offenders are apprehended and taken to courts of law to face justice. But it is disgusting when someone abuses the trauma of other real women-victims in a publicity stunt.

Sheeba’s silence leads me to believe that the ambiguity in the video is deliberate. The reason she does not mention the man who raped her, if it is not fiction, is that she wants the public to speculate about the rapist whom, given her claims involving SFC guards, would be a prominent person. Whichever person would become suspect would increase her social media profile as a desirable person by powerful men. This is sickening psychopathy.

It is no coincidence that her allegations of violation happened the same night we hosted a birthday party of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba in Entebbe Cricket Oval. We had artists perform there and I’ve asked our event organizers and they have confirmed that she was not one of our entertainers. Sheeba’s ambiguity about the event where she performed and got “raped” is clearly aimed to make people believe she was at Muhoozi’s birthday, which again scores for her more social points as an entertainer at such a high profile event.

Third, her ambiguity about the time and place of her alleged rape is aimed to achieve the same result – to place her in a particular social context in order to raise her profile. It is not by mistake that she claims her alleged rape was done by someone with SFC guards? Whom was she trying to insinuate? I do not move around with any guards, leave alone from SFC! Was she trying to dupe people that it was someone much bigger?

This kind of demented psychopathic publicity stunt should be condemned by all those who seek to protect women from abuse. Women like Sheeba are a danger to the cause of protecting women because they abuse that space to promote themselves.

A journalist from NBS tweeted that Sheeba that same night performed at a birthday party for former vice president Gilbert Bukenya. If this is true, an investigation should begin there. But whatever the merits of her claim, Sheeba is a fraudulent woman who is abusing both her role in society as an entertainer and her access to social media to create a media stunt purely for her selfish aims.

She is abusing all those women who suffer that the hands of mean men who rape them, by turning a grievous offense into publicity stunt for herself. Uganda police should pick interest in why Sheeba, a self proclaimed victim of rape, is protecting a rapist.

Sheebah Karungi Almost Raped By a Top Official

0

Today in the morning, Uganda’s sensational Singer Sheeba Kalungi posted on her socials claiming that she was sexually harassed by one of the VIPs in the country.

The post reads on Facebook, “To whom it may concern, I don’t care what you think about when you see me on stage or in any of my videos dressed the way I dress up, you better RESPECT MY BODY. It’s MINE, I get to do whatever I want to do with it. You DON’T. you can watch but you CERTAINLY CAN’T TOUCH. #Wowenarenotobjects.”

A Recorded video prevailed as she narrated her ordeal. In the video, the John Rambo singer says, “ I had a show I was performing for somebody. One of those people you respect and call real role models, that pretend on tv to do good and look good all that bullshit act.

And this old pervert was trying to be funny with me, in my car. They just opened my car with his security. They found me asleep in my car, I was about to go on stage. I always do that before my managers tell me to start dressing up.

Fast forward, this mother F*ck is trying to be inappropriate in front of my team members. No shame, no remorse, nothing. You know want what I f*ckin kept thinking about I was so angry I almost flipped but then I respect my job.

I thought about my job and then after performing I punished myself. I was thinking, why don’t I just return the money? Do I deserve this disrespect? Why do you look at women as objects? Do you have daughters?

Treat the women you meet, the way you would want your daughters to be treated, please. Seriously, I was imagining how could you try to do that shit with me? What are you doing without people seeing you behind those doors, without pretense? I hate mother-f*cking perverted people.

Men mostly, you have daughters and you act like you love your daughters but when you’re dealing with others’ daughters you act like you don’t give a f*ck. Karma is a bitch, dear Daddy. If it does not come back to bite you it will come to bite your babies so please stop the whole idea of misusing power.

Women are not objects. So if you want to sleep with a woman, please be nice and ask them, okay. If you can’t fuck off have some respect for women. If you hire me to sing, respect me. I didn’t come for you to touch me.”

In the video, she looked so infuriated by the act. Sheeba has been a women activist for some good time. In most of her interviews once given the opportunity, she always advocates for women’s empowerment and speaks about the vices acted upon them.

Sheeba has had criticism from the public domain over what is labeled as indecent dressing in Ugandan society. She was once called for a summon about her dressing by the former minister of Ethics and Integrity, the Late Father Rugoda. However, she did not appear and kept on doing her thing.

Nonetheless, there is no clear law about the dress code in Uganda, there are merely perspectives basing the cultural norms of the society.

Keep in mind that no one has a right to sexually harass anyone regardless of their dress code or behavior towards you.

 English Premier League Weekend  Review

0

As we went into the weekend, Liverpool were at the nose of Manchester city. Only one point separated the two teams. It was a much-awaited match day.

Liverpool had a tougher fixture to play against Tottenham Hotspurs who have their own aspiration of playing champions league next season. It was an eventful match and the two teams shared the spoils with the match ending one all. It was a disappointing result for both teams as Liverpool’s expectations of lifting the trophy became blurred subsequently, Tottenham’s of qualifying for Europe’s elite tournament next season is on the blink.

Manchester city stepped up to take advantage of Liverpool’s loss of points and ran riot to the resurging Newcastle by five goals to nil.

This was a great win for the Citizens as they showed that they had moved past their champion league woes when they were eliminated by the Spanish giants, Real Madrid last Wednesday.

Arteta’s Arsenal firmly held to the fourth spot on the table when they narrowly beat relegation-threatened Leeds United by 2-1 at the Emirates stadium.  Arsenal are one game away from qualifying for their first-ever champion’s league campaign for over seven years.

Chelsea fell short and settled for the draw 2-2 against the tricky Wolves team, after dominating and leading the game for most parts under the watch of their yet-to-be-announced owner Todd Boehly.

Manchester United’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League were completely impeded as they were thumped 4-0 by Brighton. United’s below-par performance showed that the incoming gaffer Erik Ten Hag has an uphill task to turn the sail of the club.

This season has been their worst in the top flight in terms of point collection, they have only garnered 58 points. Their shortcomings mean that there will be no champions league football for Cristiano Ronaldo for the first time in his illustrious career.

Everton managed to pull off a rare away win against Leicester city and thus getting out of the relegation zone and pushing Leeds United under the red line.

Watford joined Norwich on the confirmed relegated team list, it is Leeds, Everton, Burnley, and Southampton still fighting to not get relegated from the top flight.

UWA Clarifies Its Terms and Conditions of Gorilla Permit Purchase

0

The Uganda Wildlife Authority clarifies the terms and conditions of purchasing gorilla and chimpanzee permits.

On the 28th of April 2022, UWA released a press document indicating that it had revised its terms and conditions for acquiring gorilla and chimps permits. It informed all stakeholders that effective 1st May 2022, all gorilla and chimpanzee permits would be sold to Tour operators licensed by Uganda Tourism Board (UTB). And only allowed foreign residents with valid work permits or certificates of residence or dependent passes but they were restricted to purchasing no more than 5 permits.

The reason for their revision on the terms and conditions of purchasing gorilla watching permits and chimpanzee permits was to help to ensure quality service to the clients and improve the standard of the tourism sector, which of late has suffered setbacks because of a few unscrupulous individuals.

The action raised eyebrows among the domestic travelers who called out Uganda Wildlife Authority for being ungrateful yet they stood there for the tourism industry in times when it had a rough patch. One livid person posted on Tulambule’s Facebook page, “how ungrateful UWA can be, not to consider domestic tourists yet we were there and visited the national parks when international tourists could not come into the country. Domestic Tourism had gained momentum now it’s going back to the slumbers”.

Over the weekend, Uganda Wildlife Authority retracted the decision it had made. It posted on its socials a clarification note which read, “ We had noted a general misinterpretation of a statement we put out earlier this week regarding UWA’s revised terms and conditions for purchasing gorilla and chimpanzee permits. We would like to clarify that the notice was in regards to Foreign Non-Residents and Foreign Residents. Ugandans and East African Citizens are free to walk into UWA and purchase permits for their personal use. However, note that anyone intending to purchase permits for business purposes must be registered or Licensed”

Bus Accident Claims atleast 20 in Fort Portal

0

The Ugandan police say 20 people have been killed after a passenger bus crashed into a tea estate off a highway in Fort Portal in western Uganda.

Police said at least seven of the victims in the Wednesday morning accident are minors who were traveling on the bus.

There was no immediate information on what caused the accident, among the deadliest in Uganda in recent years. However, the local residents report that the driver failed to negotiate a sharp corner yet he was over-speeding leading to a crash of the vehicle.

The bus was traveling from Bundibugyo to the Ugandan capital, Kampala.

Photos from the scene shared on social media showed responders trying to rescue survivors from the mangled wreckage.

Deadly motor accidents are frequent in Uganda, where roads and highways are narrow and often littered with potholes. Head-on collisions involving heavy vehicles are common.
