    Brig. Gen Jackson Bell Dies After Multiple Organ Failure

    R0079 Brig. Gen. Jackson ‘Bell’ Tushabe most known for his club the Victors FC has breathed his last at Nakasero Hospital. The fearless fighter has died in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, June 30 at Nakasero Hospital. He was 61 Years and he has been sick for over 15 years.

    He succumbed to multiple organ failure and this was after an operation of the intestines.

    The fierce fighter who participated in the NRA Liberation war succumbed to multiple organ failure but he had been recently hospitalized.

    Bell as he is fondly known, participated in the five year bush war that brought President Yoweri Museveni to power in 1986. Previously he served 4th Division commander of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces.

    In the bush, Bell belonged to the dare devil category of commanders like Jet Mwebaze (RIP), Stanley Muhangi (RIP), Col. Patrick Lumumba (RIP) and Brig. Matayo Kyaligonza. According to the Obersver, the Dare Devil group of fighters was responsible for urban terrorism in Kampala. It staged several ambushes shortly after the attack on Kabamba as a diversionary tactic to divert attention from the main fighters of the NRA.

    After the struggle, Bell served as a commander of the 4th division Gulu, 3rd Division in Mbale and 2nd Division in Mbarara.

    Later he retired and ventured into fishing at the Gaba Landing Site.

    Commonly known as Col. Bell, he was stuck at the rank of Colonel from the late 80s to 2019. Last year, he was among officers promoted after his elevation from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier General.

    He has been famously known in the sports arena. He was the director of the Victors FC, a local Football Club which played in the Ugandan Super League until their relegation in 2012. He also served as the Chairman Super Divisions Clubs Associations (SADCA) and chairman Fufa Competitions Committee between 2005 and 2009.He also served as the Chairman Super Divisions Clubs Associations (SADCA) and chairman Fufa Competitions Committee between 2005 and 2009.
