KIU, Glacaticos Face Off In Beach Soccer League

The national pepsi beach soccer league resumes on Sunday, at Lido Beach Entebbe with 12 fixtures. In the Moonsoon group, Real Galacticos will take on KIU. Galactico’s Abdul Karim told kawowo sports, “We shall play our hearts out for nothing but a victory.”

Teams are looking forward to winning their fixtures in a battle for the top position at the league table in both groups (Hurriken and Moonson).The top two will then play in the finals.

Nkumba Select currently leads the Hurriken group, MUBS is in second position while defending champions, St Lawrence University are third.

National team players will be selected from this league. “The plat form is the league. Only excelling players will be considered on merit for upcoming national team beach soccer tournaments” said the Sand Cranes head-coach Hamza Junju.

Special awards for the different excelling players will be given out including,the overall best player with an MVP’s award, Golden glove award (for best goalie), young players award among others.
