Jacob Oulanya’s Son Wins Omoro By-election

Andrew Ojok Oulanya is the new area Member of Parliament for Omoro County taking the place that was previously occupied by his father Jacob Oulanya who was also the Speaker of Parliament. The seat became vacant following the untimely death of Jacob.

Ojok who ran on the NRM flag defeated five other candidates from various political parties.

Ojok scopped 14,224 votes while his closet rival, Toolit Simon Akecha of the National Unity Platform (NUP) who garnered 1,633.

Terence Odonga (Independent) came third with 532 votes, Justine Odong of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party came number four with 529 votes while Jimmy Walter Onen (Independent) was declared fifth with 88 votes and Oscar Kizza of the Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) trailed with 63 votes.
