Dstv, the providers of Africa Magic, on which Big Brother Africa is hosted has Thursday confirmed the reigning Miss Uganda Stella Nantumbwe alias Ellah is Uganda’s representative.

“The feisty Ellah is the reigning Miss Uganda and if she were an animal, she’d be a lioness, because of all the power that comes with it. She promises Africa a “cocktail of personality” with a rough edge,” Dstv posted on Facebook a few minutes back.

She was confirmed alongside other two contestants, Butterphly from Zimbabwe and Alusa from Kenya.

However, the confirmation of Nantumbwe as Uganda’s representative is not news to UGO readers. In our 2 September news, we broke to you the news of Nantumbwe’s being Uganda’s ambassador in this edition; Big Brother Hotshots.

The event could have been underway by now but it got a big set back when fire gutted down the house in which it was to be hosted.

This was just 5 days away from the day it was set to launch.

Meanwhile, M-Net and Endemol SA over the weekend confirmed a new house had been found in Johannesburg, South Africa and a new date for the launch of Africa’s biggest reality show was set.

The show will launch on Sunday 5 October AT 19:00 CAT with participants from 12 Countries: Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

This year’s Big Brother Africa 9 edition is dubbed Big Brother Hotshots. It will last a period of 91 days.

This year’s winner(s) will walk away with cash prize – US$300 000 (Shs780, 000 000) at the end of the show.

Nigerian star IK Osakioduwa, will once again be the host for the fifth time in a row.
