StarTimes to air FIBA AfroBasket 2021

StarTimes, a pay digital TV operator is set to broadcast the Afro championship of Nations, FIBA AfroBasket live in Rwanda,2021.

The 30th Edition of the AfroBasket, men’s basketball continental championship of Africa has been scheduled to take place between August 24 and September 5,2021 in Rwanda’s capital city Kigali.

The 16 national teams who will be competing for the championship have been divided into four groups.

In Group A, the host country, Rwanda will face DRC, Cape Verde and the 11-time AfroBasket winners, Angola. Group B will see the reigning champions, Tunisia compete against Central African Republic, Egypt and Guinea. In Group C, the 2015 champions, Nigeria will face Ivory coast, Kenya and Mail. And the last Group D, Uganda will compete against Senegal, Cameroon and South Sudan to a get a qualification spot.

According to the schedule, the top team from each group will automatically advance to the Quarter finals.

The eight teams that will finish second and the third place in Groups of A,B,C &D will compete from August 30 to 31 for the remaining quarter finals.The final game will then be played on September 5,2021.

According Christine Nagujja, the StarTimes spokesperson, all matches will be aired live and exclusive on StarTimes sports channels, StarTimes sports Life and StarTimes sports focus.

Nagujja added that the existing StarTimes subscribers can simply pay Basic subscription at Shs20,000 or smart at Shs28,000 or buy a StarTimes antenna decoder at Shs39,000 and a dish at Shs99,000 to watch live updates of the sports.
