Red Pepper is now a mainstream newspaper having cut out all its sex oriented content. Lovers of hyena stories that have been running in the tabloid for the last twelve years could not believe it when they bought the newspaper only to notice that their favorite column was missing.
In fact those who missed out on the May 16 announcement of the rebranding news thought they had bought a different newspaper but on looking closely, they noticed it was the new Red Pepper that is competing directly with the old guards, New Vision and Monitor.
Analysts say the Red Pepper could have kept on doing what they do best now that they were having a dedicated following that had gotten used to their style.
Chances are the Red Pepper has given way to the Hello tabloid which is weekly and before we know it, the Hello tabloid also owned by Red Pepper Publications will be a daily assuming most of the roles that were being played by the former tabloid, Red Pepper.
A comparison between the new Red Pepper and the old one reveals that the language has changed so certain words won’t feature in the new Red Pepper, adverts for gaining inches, breast and hips firming have all been dropped.
A letters section has been introduced in the new version of the Red Pepper.
