For the two years, there have been no crowds allowed to gather in celebration of the Uganda Martyrs and this was due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the restrictions earlier put in place to combat the spread of Covid, now lifted, organisers of the Martyrs Day celebrations have announced that this year’s celebrations will be open to everyone willing.

According to Rt. Rev. Dr. Robert Muhiirwa, the Bishop of Fort Portal Diocese the Ministry of Health allowed the church to hold the celebrations without any restrictions.

The organisers say that there will, however, be strict enforcement of the Standard Operating Procedures.

The church has budgeted 100 million to ensure the success of the celebrations.
