    11 Aspiring For 2019/20 Makerere University Guild Presidential Seat

    The search for the new guild president of the oldest high learning institution in Uganda, Makerere University Kampala is back.

    The campaigns kicked off over the weekend, Friday 1st March 2019 at the Complex hall with 11 candidates aspiring for the prestigious seat as confirmed by the university electoral commission.

    The contestants include, Taliwaku Andrew who is representing the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Namuddu Milly of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and Kateregga Julius of the Uganda Young Democrats (UYD). Those who are independent include David Musiri, Emmanuel Agaba, Joshua Mukisa, Winter Nsimire, Osbert Arinda, George Mutumba, Donald Munanu, and Umar Wageya.

    The aspirants promised heaven and earth and many that presented well their manifestos appeared to have picked a reasonable following on the opening day of the campaign.

    The campaigns are scheduled to end on Thursday, March 14 and the elections shall take place on Friday, March 15.
