Busoga Celebrates Anniversary of Gabula Nadiope IV Coronation

NewsBusoga Celebrates Anniversary of Gabula Nadiope IV Coronation

Busoga Kingdom celebrated the anniversary of Gabula Nadiope IV’s coronation today with great enthusiasm and jubilation. The festivities marked this special occasion, which followed the recent introduction of Queen Jovia Mutesi to the Busoga Kingdom, a moment that was deeply cherished by the people of Busoga.

Gabula assumed the throne as the Kyabazinga of Busoga on September 13, 2014, securing ten votes in a successful election among the nine royal chiefs. He emerged victorious over Wambuzi Colombuzi, who did not even participate in the ceremony.

Late Kawune declared Gabula as the Kyabazinga of Busoga after the ceremonies, and he has since continued to reign as the full Kyabazinga of Busoga.

This year’s anniversary was themed “Harnessing the Environment through Tree Planting.”

Thousands of well-wishers from the Busoga Kingdom, including members of the royal family, county chiefs, and Gabula himself, attended the social ceremony. Queen Jovia Mutesi’s presence was also acknowledged, adding to the joyous atmosphere.

The anniversary took place at the headquarters of Namungalwe sub-county and began in the morning with cheers echoing from Iganga. Tree planting was a significant part of the event, aligning with the theme of environmental conservation.

The entire Busoga Kingdom celebrated the happiness they derive from having Gabula Nadiope IV as their leader, and there was excitement about the impending traditional marriage between the Kyabazinga and Queen Jovia Mutesi.

Yesterday, preliminary reports indicated that the preparations for the ceremony were in order, as confirmed by Chairperson LC3 Namungalwe, Anthony Siringisi. The venue was beautifully decorated with colorful tents and seats.

Congratulations to the Busoga Kingdom on reaching this cherished anniversary in honor of their beloved Kyabazinga, Gabula Nadiope IV.
