Uganda Civil Aviation Authority – UCAA suspends study tours at Entebbe International Airport due to passenger traffic Increase.
The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority – UCAA, an the authority in charge of operation of airports in the country has suspended all study tours at Entebbe International Airport with immediate effect.
In a statement dated October 12, 2023, and signed by the Manager Public Affairs of UCAA Vianney Mpungu Luggya, says “owing to the growing number of users of the facilities at Entebbe International Airport and in light of the on-going expansion works, which have led to condoning-off of some areas of the car parking, the study tours to the airport have been temporarily suspended to reduce on congestion.”
Before the suspension, everyday, Entebbe International Airport has been receiving 10- 15 schools daily with some coming with about 100 students.
Vianney Mpungu Luggya, added that, “the move is aimed at enhancing service provision as the facilities are being upgraded for a better passenger experience.”
“We are undertaking the works for expansion of the terminal build.” Luggya said.
However the suspension will run for unspecified period of time until when the airport is fully upgraded.
“Members of the public will be informed as soon as the suspension of the study tours is lifted before the end of the year,” Luggya says.
