The Uganda Boxing Federation President Moses Muhangi earlier before faced his arrest and later on amidst mid Thursday, he was remanded to Luzira Prison on charges of releasing false documents and unrealistic accountability which possibly might have added salt in the wound angrily were the officiates and the iconic leaders of the Ministry of Education and Sport.

The official was accused over allegations of forgery and his failure to justify the authenticity of receipts showing all reliable expenditures and remanded till further notice.

Coming from reliable sources visibly from his cell, Muhangi pleaded to the President of the Republic of Uganda and the Minister of Education and Sports, MS Janet Kataha Museveni playing a great role in interfering and intervening in the dramatic affairs affecting the sports industry which had been poorly treated and ruthlessly affected according to Muhangi’s claims.

“I only request the President Yoweri Museveni and Minister of Sports Janet Museveni to intervene in the affairs affecting the sports sector, “Muhangi said.

According to Muhangi’s lawyer. Phillip Munaabi, earlier informed the press that they are going to work hand in hand to prevail Muhangi’s innocence and have the production warrant so that Muhangi is set from jail on bail.

“We are trying our best to expedite the bail hearing of our client and provide satisfied evidence to the bail hearing, “he said…

The alleged charges on Muhangi were given a deaf ear by his related family members and friends together with the co-accused Lydia Namuleme the former Federation Accountant.She also presented Sh3.5m receipt to the Public Accounts Committee.

Court House registered number of fans coming in different sport sector: coaches, sport fans, and the Uganda Professional Boxing Commission President Salim Uhuru also paid a visit to the court, Yusuf Nkobeza, Ssenyange Jr among other sports men.

Besides Muhangi’s case, Sarah Babirye Kityo, the President of the Uganda Netball Federation has also previously been arrested on the same allegations of snitching money and presenting false reports. Reports said.

The Boxing President (Muhangi) was remanded up to May 31 by the Nakawa Court Chief Magistrate Ritah Kidasa.
