She Mak Beats Lady Doves to Win FUFA Women’s Cup 2019

Masindi Side Lady Doves yet suffered another Loss at the Finals in a space of one week following Makerere University Ladies Football Club, She Mak beating them in the finals of the FUFA Women’s Uganda Cup over the weekend.

She Mak defied the odds to beat the favorites Lady Doves 2 – 0 at Startimes Stadium Lugogo on Saturday 8th June to claim their first ever silverware in the history of Ugandan Women Football.

Jemima Twesigye gave Makerere University the lead before Fatuma Nandawula but sealed the University side victory.

Lady Doves had a week earlier lost to UCU Lady Cardinals in the Finals of the FUFA Women Elite League.

She Mak that is currently coached by Fred Ndawula – a former referee surprised many as they had a not convising spell in the league as they struggled to fend off relegation, finishing just above the drop zone in Elizabeth group.

However, the addition of players like Amina Nababi from Kawempe and Catherine Nagaddya from Katuuso Community gave the team the drive going forward.

They now become the third team to win the FUFA Women’s Cup dethroning 2018 champions UCU Lady Cardinals while Olila High School were the inaugural of the tournament in 2017.
