Players and officials of the Startimes Uganda Premie League champions, KCCA FC have safely arrived in Rwanda for the CECAFA Kagame Cup 2019.

The team arrived today afternoon in Butare to represent Uganda in the annual tourney.

They will be playing their group (B) matches at Huye Stadium against Kenya’s Bandari FC on 7th July, Tanzania’s Azam FC on the 9th and the host nation’s Mukura Victory Sport, a local football club in Butare on the 12th of July 2019.

The tournament will be running from 6th to 21st July. Other clubs include to participate include Green Eagles, Proline FC, KMC, Atlabara and AS Sports among others. Earlier, DCMP was ruled out of the tournament and replaced with AS Maniema Union of DR Congo, the winners of Coupe Du Congo 2019.

Last year’s edition was won by Tanzania’s Azam FC. They beat Simba by 2 – 1 by goals from Shabban Iddi and Aggrey Morris. Simba’s consolation goal was netted by Meddie Kagere.
