The Democratic Alliance (TDA) is set to announce its flag bearer for the 2016 elections today.

The public is very anxious to know the flag bearer but we have established that it will have to wait a bit longer before getting the announcement.

This follows its postponement for the third time.

TDA’s flag bearer was set to be announced today by the summit, which was scheduled to sit at 8am but it has failed to sit.

The summit meeting has instead been pushed to 1pm.

This is because the person supposed to chair the meeting has an emergency.

The summit was to announce the flag bearer on Friday but this was postponed to Monday.

However, this was again shifted to Wednesday after the meeting which went past 2am ended in a stalemate.

TDA’s spokesperson, Wafula Oguttu told journalists that had camped at the Alliance’s offices in Naguru that a decision had not been reached.

He noted that the joint presidential candidate would be announced on today morning.

There are two people remaining in the race: Dr Kiiza Besigye and former Prime Minister Amama Mbambazi.

Meanwhile, we have learnt that the two front runners will be allowed to campaign before a final decision is taken.
