    Ugandan Pastor Sent to Prison over False Talks on Covid-19 Pandemic in Africa

    A Ugandan Pastor has been remamded to prison for a week over giving false news about the Corona Virus deadly Covid-19 disease.

    A one Pastor Yiga Augistine of the Christian Revival Church, Kawaala in the outskirts of Kampala was remanded to Luzira High Prison by the chief magistrate following his allegations that there was no single case of the SARS-COV-2 pandemic in Africa as reported.

    “Let me talk about it like this, if you like it or not, if the government punishes me or not, if you love me or not, there isn’t any Corona Virus case yet in Africa.” – Pastor Yiga alias ‘Abizaayo’ said during a live TV interview after being asked to talk about the measures being put by the Uganda government to combat the deadly infection that also include banning all public transport means, schools, churches, bars and night clubs among others.

    As of today 30th March 2020, Uganda has 33 Corona Virus cases with no death or recovery recorded.

    According to the state attorneys, it is punishable by law for one to give false information that could reslult into a spread of any deadly disease in Uganda as of the constitution.

    Meanwhile, this is not the first time for this Pastor to face the hard side of the law as he has been arrested for a number of times by the Police over acts of child negligence and sexual harrasment to his female followers.
