Flash floods have Thursday led to the temporary closure of Kilembe Hospital in Kasese district.

Currently, mass evacuation of patients from Kilembe Hospital is underway following heavy rains that burst the banks of River Nyamwamba.

One person is reported dead after flash floods again washed away some wards at the Hospital. Patients have been evacuated from Kilembe Hospital to Masereka medical center in Kasese town and others to St Pauls Health Center.

A Catholic church has reportedly also been washed away in the same area.

Meanwhile another river has burst its banks washing away a temporary bridge in Kasese district. Nyamugasani River, one of the four that over flooded in May last year has swept away the only bridge at Busasa Kyaruma.

According to reprots, the affected people are climbing hills to escape the strong flash floods
