Sheebah Dominates Hipipo Music Awards, Wins 5 Accolades

Despite not being in attendance, Singer Sheebah Karungi turned out to be the topic of the night of 17th March, after winning 5 Hipipo music awards.

It was the 6th edition of the annual music accolades on the Saturday 17 at Kampala Serena Hotel.

The ‘Muwe’ singer was announced as a winner on top 5 awards, including Artist of the Year, Best Female Artist, Best Afro Beat Song, Best East African Collabo and Album of the Year.

The Best Afro Beat Song was Sintani Tonkema, where Sheebah Karungi featured Roden Y alias Kabako and Fik Fameica, Best East African Collabo was Binkolera featuring Rwanda’s The Ben and the voted Album of the Year was her Karma Queen.

Fik Fameica, Nessim, Navio, Late Mowzey Radio, Selector Jay were among the other winners with the highlight of the night being criticism to Mary Bata’s Best Band song where she beat Carol Nantongo and Eddy Yawe’s ‘Tukigaale’ song that many claimed that she didn’t deserve it.

The Event of award giving out also Saw Great performances from artists like Navio, Fik Fameika, Evelyn Lagu, Waka Waka stars, Ghetto Triplet kids and Roden Y Kabako in addition to Afro Fusion Band that bucked Diana Nalubega as she sung different songs from Radio &Weasel in paying tribute to Fallen Good Lyfe star, Late Moses Sekibogo Nakintije a.k.a Mowzey.

Meanwhile among other big artistes that snubbed the 2018 HiPipo Music Awards included Bebe Cool, Chameleone, Juliana Kanyomozi, Cindy, Rema Namakula and Eddy Kenzo among.
