Gaddafi Football Club came from behind to take home all 3 points in a frantic, action – packed Star Times Uganda Premier League clash with the record holders Sports Club Villa on Friday.10. December. 2021 at the Gaddafi Arena, Jinja.

The visitors took the lead through an own- goal by Kyeyune but the home team kept composure and thus smashed in two goals through Musana and Buchochera to claim all the 3 points at the end of the day.

The game began as so many league games where the the “heavy weight” SC Villa was expected to dominate over the “light weight” Gaddafi FC; however, the under dogs looked more composed and gave that little bit of extra pushing and creativity that eventually won them the game.

SC Villa threatened in offensive in the early minutes of the game and indeed their efforts in attack brought about the own goal by Kyeyune which gifted them with the lead in the 8th minute.

After falling 1-0 to their visitors, the Soldier Boys picked themselves making strides into the Jogoos’ half in search for an equaliser.

11 minutes later, the hosts got on to the score sheet with a goal in the 19th minute through Buchochera.

The equalizer helped Gaddafi gain more momentum and asked a number of questions in the SC Villa back-line and indeed, it were the home team who finished the first half stronger.

After the break, Gaddafi continued to dominate proceedings both in possession and chance created for goals and they were at it again but their goal by Mugumba was ruled out for offside.

On the 76th minute, Buchochera who had a number of missed opportunities finally got his name in the referee’s book; recording a goal that eventually gave Gaddafi FC all the three points.

SC Villa pushed in search of an equalizer but Gaddafi defended well in the closing stages and clung on for an immense victory over the record national league champions.

However, before the full time whistle, SC Villa’s Kakomo was given matching orders for a second bookable offense on Sibira in the 90+6 minute.
