Female Entrepreneurs in Uganda! Women’s Venture Exchange Africa is Here for You.

Applications are now being accepted from East African female entrepreneurs who wish to benefit from the opportunities available in the Women’s Venture Exchange Africa initiative.

It should be recalled that The US State Department, The Case Foundation, and Mara Foundation launched the initiative in July at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Nairobi. It was created to support viable women-owned businesses run by young female entrepreneurs in East Africa who wish to expand beyond the borders of their own countries.

The WVXA will allow four selected entrepreneurs to spend 2-4 weeks in Nairobi attending the Global Entrepreneurship Week and accessing mentorship opportunities with leading mentors in their industries through the Mara Mentor program.

“One of the things we’ve learned about promoting entrepreneurship is that mentoring can go a long way, especially when mentors can speak from first-hand experience about how to overcome similar challenges and navigate similar environments.” – Catherine Russell, U.S. Ambassador for Global Women Issues

However, Still at the pilot phase, the initiative is only open to East African businesses but will soon expand to capture the whole of the African continent depending on the success of this pilot program. Application ends October 23. For additional info on application and eligibility, click
