    Uganda Corona Virus Confirmed Cases Rise to 45

    Uganda has registered another confirmed case of Corona Virus after another person tested positive on Thursday. This brings the number of confirmed cases in the country to 45.

    According to the Press Release from the Ministry of Health, one of the sample tested positive for COVID-19. This sample was out of the total of 302 samples that were tested at the Uganda Virus Research Institute (UVRI).

    The case is of a 22 Year old Ugandan Female, a resident of Nkonkonjeru in Wakiso District. She has been identified as the wife to a previosly confirmed case who arrived from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who arrived in Uganda on 20th March 2020. She didn’t have any signs and symptoms consistent with Covid-19 but was tested due to that she got into contact with the husband.

    Up to today, a total of 1026 individuals are under followup in institutional quarantine. A total of 92 contacts to the confirmed cases are also under followup.

    The Ministry of Health has established that all 45 confirmed cases are in stable condition at Mulago Specialized Hospital, Entebbe Grade B Hospital, Hoima and Adjumani Hospitals.

    Currently, Uganda has NOT registered any DEATH related with the Corona Virus Pandemic.
