Express FC vs Masavu FC
Express FC will play host to visiting Masavu FC in the Azam Uganda Premier League tie at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
The Red Eagles come into this tie at the back of 3 winless games: 2 losses in the hands of Onduparaka and BUL FC plus a goalless draw with Bright Stars.
Masavu on the hand, are situated at the foot of the table with having conceded the highest number of goals this season so far, 15 in 9 games.
Express FC Coach Douglas Bamweyana, however, is not taking Masavu for granted:
“In our Club’s organisation, we don’t despise any other Club. Masavu might be struggling too but they are a good side,” said Bamweyana in an exclusive interview.
“In our past matches it has been evident that we dominated our opponents but it’s the results that have not gone our way.”
Express FC is in the red zone too, 14th on the log with just 8 points.
But following an international break, Bamweyana believes that the 15 days rest have done his side good:
“The International break comes as a blessing in disguise for my players, we have now got enough rest and I can say that everybody is in good shape.
“I have spiced up the training: our major problem was putting the ball at the back of the net but i have added various channels that we will deploy to rectify it.”
Express FC will miss the services of team Captain David Ndihabwe who suffered a minor knock in training recently.
Striker Andrew Ssekayombya has also been ruled out due to illness but the rest of the side is available for selection.
“I have total respect in him and am sure that he is also looking for points but I have organized my side in a better way to out compete them,” the coach said.
