FJL: New Comers Mbarara, Masavu Start on a High

The Fufa Junior League officially got underway on Saturday with a couple of surprising results.

Playing their maiden games in the competition, Mbarara City Junior team and Masavu junior team did not find trouble in dispatching their opponents.

In the games played as curtain raisers before the respective Uganda Premier League games on Saturday, Masavu defeated Proline while Mbarara City breezed past Express Junior team.

At Kakyeka stadium, Mbarara City defeated Express 3-1 with goals coming from Allan Ahimbisibwe, Salim Kakooza and Nathaniel Antamba.

Midfielder Billy Nkata pulled one back for the visitors.

Masavu went against the odds to ease past proline with Rogers Mugisha, Ashraf Zizinga and Hakim Byarunga scoring a goal each in the 3-0 win.

Onduparaka did not find trouble in earning victory against Maroons Junior team in Luzira.

Katy Anthony and Draku Silas scored as the West Nile side won 2-0.

Action continues on Sunday with three fixtures on card. Defending champions Soana soccer academy start their title defence away to SC Villa Jogoo junior team.

Last season’s runners up KCCA soccer academy will be at home against Police armless brigade while Kirinya Jinja SS host UPDF junior team.
