Joyce Nalubega and Bridge Byamukama put up great performance to emerge champions at the 2017 Botladz woodball challenge.
In the one day tournament played over the weekend at Kyambogo University, Nalubega and Byamukama became winners in the women’s and men’s category respectively in the inaugural Botladz challenge.
Nalubega who plays for Ndejje University beat off stiff competition from teammate Joan Mukova to claim the title.
She returned a total of 199 strokes in four rounds just three above Mukova who collected 202.
Stoke Woodball Club’s Denis Nanjeru came third finishing with a total of 212 strokes.
In the men’s category, Byamukama from Zoe Woodball club recovered in the third round to eventually win.
After a relatively poor start in the opening two rounds where he registered 48 and 49 strokes in the first and second round respectively. Byamukama put up a special performance in the third round with a return of 41.
Byamukama eventually garnered 187 strokes five ahead of Charles Ssensalo from Ndejje University while Wilson Musinguzi came third.
Winners walked away with a cash prize of Ushs 200,000, the first runners up bagged 150,000/= while the second runners up got Ushs 100,000.
