3rd Place Play-offs

Ndejje 1-3 KAVC

Both the men’s and Ladies Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club teams have won Bronze in the NSSF International Volleyball Tournament.

Earlier in the day, KAVC lost their semifinal to Rwanda’s APR by 3-1 sets to dent their chances of qualifying to the final of the tournament they hosted as Kirehe defeated REG in the other Semis.

In the bronze Match, KAVC defeated REG with 25-21, 25-21 and 28-26 to eventually win 3-0 and claim for Bronze.

KAVC coach, Shila Omuriwe Buyungo, said: “Our target was to get to the finals and we did not achieve that. So I had to convince my boys to pull up their socks if we were to claim for a medal.”

She added: “I’m proud of them because they did a good job; all the departments worked very well though we had a big load yesterday that saw us play a game at almost midnight. I’m sure that took a lot from my players.”

The ladies 3rd placement match saw KAVC edge Ndejje by 3-1.
