AUPL: Maroons, Onduparaka in Epic Clash

Uganda Premier League

Maroons vs Onduparaka FC

After a seemingly unproductive match day one, the Uganda Premier League continues with a couple of interesting games.

Maroons FC host West Nile giants Onduparaka this Saturday in Luzira, in a highly anticipated clash.

The prison warders come into this game on the back of a goalless draw against defending champions KCCA FC in their first game of the season.

Team coach Asaph Mwebaze indicates the perfect start they had against KCCA FC will spur them to even perform better against Onduparaka.

“We put up a fantastic display against KCCA FC and that seemed to have given us motivation. The game against Onduparaka is not easy like any other but we are optimistic of a positive result,” he said.

With Pius Obuya, Ronald Orombi and William Wadri, Maroons have an attacking force that can hurt any defence.

On the other hand, Onduparaka began the season with a goalless draw against Proline at home.

However, the big news ahead of today’s game is the fate of influential striker Mohammad Shaban who seems unsettled and ready to leave the club.

The striker has reportedly handed in a transfer request to leave the Arua based side.
