Victoria University Launches Move to Train Secondary Students in Business

Victoria University has launched a drive to equip secondary school students with skills in online marketing, business management among other business related competences.

The initiative in which the university partners with Kafeero Foundation began with St. Lawrence schools where 5 students were skilled and recognized as Google Certified trainees.

Kafeero Foundation, a brainchild of Aziz Kafeero seeks to “Support employability, enterprise and innovation.”

The 5 students who were awarded certificates of completing the 4-day training will be tasked to nurture their own colleagues in similar skills.

Aside from the certification, the Ruparelia Foundation awarded the 5 students scholarships to study at Victoria University when they complete their secondary education.

Joseph Nyakana, the acting vice chancellor of Victoria University and Newton Bayo, the executive director of the foundation graced the event.

Speaking to students at the fair, Dr Krishna N Sharma Dean Faculty of Health Science and Dr.Terry Kahuma Dean Faculty of Science and Technology advised the ambassadors to explore and utilize all chances of acquiring knowledge and using it for the good of the community.

Aziiz Kafeero, the Founder of Kafeero Foundation promised to come up with many students’ based Initiatives in as many secondary schools in Uganda and East Africa.
