Six butcher men from Ntinda,Â Nankulabye and Nakasero markets were found guilty of using formalin to preserve meat and fish. City Hall court grade one Magistrate Beatrice KhainzaÂ sentenced the six butcher menÂ to eight months imprisonment.
Erias Katumba, Isa Ssenoga , Isma Mutebi, Umar Kalyango, Baker Mulondo and Ibrahim Ssekitto were last week arrested from different city markets in Nankulabye and Ntinda. The operation was carried out by KCCA health andÂ law enforcement officers on dirty butchers
TheÂ arrested butcher men were found guilty of using a chemical identified as formalin to preserve meat and fish. Beatrice Khainza ruled that the suspectsâ€™ actions put the lives of innocent Ugandans in danger and therefore deserved to be punished.
