Daniel Omara, Pablo Inspire Students at Victoria University

Students from over 10 top secondary schools in Kampala were on Friday treated to free comedy from two top comedians, Daniel Omara and Pablo Kimuli.

The duo had come to speak to students at the Victoria University “Open Day” which took place at the university and was attended by over 500 students.

Pablo told students that to succeed in life, there was need to believe in their dreams, find their passions in life and use them to make their lives better.

“I am a professional journalist but I choose comedy because I love to entertain and make people happy. If you want to achieve any of your dreams, you will have to discover yourself and work hard to achieve your dreams,” Kimuli told the overexcited students.

He also advised the students to be disciplined and stay in school as education is a necessary tool for success.

“Even if you want to be a musician, you need to first finish school and have a profession. That will help as your music career catches up. Also you need to be disciplined, respect your parents and other people, and also stay away from bad peers,” he added.

Omara advised students to focus on building their talents as this will help them to create jobs for themselves instead of going out to search for jobs that are not available.

Speaking at the same function, the Vice Chancellor Victoria University, Dr. Sharma Kalmar said Victoria University is the right university for students who want to develop their talents because the lecturers are equipped to train and discover the talents of each student.

“Our team here is equipped to help our students discover their talents and potentials. That is why I encourage all of you to consider joining our university in future.”

He also asked students to be confident and believe in themselves and also be innovative if they want to compete favorably on the internationally level.
