Stanbic bank has won an excellence award in corporate social responsibility for ‘Business Champion for Young Children’ in the recent concluded private sector development awards (PSFUawards).
Stanbic bank was awarded for its continuous support to vulnerable children and for supporting innovations in the education sector.
PSFU awards are an annual event that seeks to award good governance, excellent association management and leadership practices with in the private and public sector.
The awards also recognise government agencies that have improved service delivery to promote the private sector.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Gideon Badagawa, Executive Director PSFU, said: “To drive investment, we must have good land reforms.”
This year’s awards, in its 7th year took place at Royal Suites, Bugolobi on September 14.
Stanbic Bank recently sent two young students that won the 2017 Stanbic Bank National Schools Championships to South Africa on an all-expenses paid trip by Stanbic Bank.
They also partnered with the Ministry of Education and Sports to organize the inter-school competition in February this year.
Over 3,000 students from 40 secondary schools across Uganda took part in a series of educational activities ranging from class debates, quiz competitions and dynamic group projects.
