The Minister of Gender, Labor and Social Development, Janat Mukwaya and the district team on Friday visited beneficiaries of youth livelihood (YlP) and Uganda women empowerment projects in Kyenjojo district.
The aim of visiting the groups, according to the minister, was to discover if groups exist in the district.
The Minister visited Rwenyongo youth fattening group and Buraro women produce buying and selling group in Nyantungo sub-county.
The minister hailed Buraro women group for hard work and ordered the chief Administrative officer to increase funding to the group to 10 million.
Other visited include, Rubango Irish growers women group in katooke sub-county, Batarika Youth Boda in Nyankwanzi sub –county and Kitanyana Produce Buying and Selling Women Group in Nyankwanzi sub-county.
Mukwaya said that the object of the programs is to eradicated poverty and advised the beneficiaries to put it into good use.
She was accompanied by RDC Kawoonawo, CAO department, officials from gander ministry, deputy LC5 Chairperson among other dignitaries.
